About Your Kids

Dr. Boren encourages a visit to the dentist by the age of two and so that he and your child can enjoy this first visit as nothing but a FUN experience.

Brushing and flossing techniques are important to prevent decay. We encourage participation by the parents until the child has demonstrated the ability to carry out these procedures properly.

Sealants are done to prevent decay on the biting surface of the molar teeth where cavities are most likely to occur.  They are simple and painless to place and we recommend them for your children to prevent problems later on.

A child’s first set of teeth are not only important for chewing and appearance but also to help the permanent teeth erupt into the proper position.  They should be repaired if they develop cavities, as they are very important in a child’s dental development.

Rowlett Smiles is pleased to offer complimentary custom sports mouth guards for all of our school age patients.  A custom made sports guard is important for anyone participating in contact sports. Sports guards will protect your child from accidental injury to teeth and will also protect against concussions that are caused by trauma to the jaw joint and the base of the skull.
