About Dr. Boren
In 2nd grade, Dr. Boren decided he’d be a dentist. That is, after he retired from his future, major league baseball career. Since he retired from baseball after 10th grade and realized that he had an inclination for medical or science areas at a very young age, he was able to focus his undivided attention on becoming a dentist. Dr. Boren worked for ten years as a cashier at a grocery store as he went through high school, college and dental school which he feels prepared him in many ways to interact with people as he enjoys doing now in dental practice.

Dr. Boren also enjoys reading, running and competes in marathons from time to time. Traveling is another favorite pastime, and the Doc can be found hiking the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone National Park or other scenic locals when he gets the chance. He also has a passion for sports, particularly baseball. Dr. Boren received a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University in 1982 and graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1986. Later at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio from 1986 through 1988 he received extensive advanced training in their Hospital Dentistry Residency Program in many areas including anesthesia, surgery and TMJ treatment. Dr. Boren has enjoyed teaching young people ranging from preschoolers to high schoolers about dental health. He particularly enjoys speaking to junior high and high school students about dentistry as a career. Dr. Boren has lectured to dental students on various subjects and has published research in scientific dental journals.
